Privacy Policy

This policy describes which data Zitierbar processes, for what purpose — and which rights you have. Last updated: August 2026.

Hosting and server logs

This website runs on servers of Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany). When you visit, technically necessary connection data is processed (IP address, time, requested page, browser identifier) to deliver the site and keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The connection is TLS-encrypted throughout.

Account and registration

The visibility test requires an account. We process your e-mail address and password (stored exclusively as a hash, never in plain text) and the registration IP address to limit abuse (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).

We only use a technically necessary session cookie — no analytics, marketing or third-party cookies.

Visibility test

When you start a test, we process the website domain you provide. We fetch publicly accessible content of that website and ask typical customer questions to AI assistants (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity) via OpenRouter Inc. (USA). Only the domain and generic questions are transmitted — no personal data about you. Transfers to the USA rely on Art. 46 GDPR (the provider's standard contractual clauses).

Report request (pilot phase)

If you request the full report, we additionally process your company name, your name, position and phone number to review the request and contact you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

The reference permission (naming your company, logo, optionally a quote) is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) and can be revoked at any time by e-mail to kontakt@zitier.bar.

Retention

We store account and test data for as long as your account exists; on request we delete your account and its data. Server logs are kept only briefly for security purposes.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
